With lots going on with our family and tons I have wanted to catch up with when it comes to blogging I have been feeling stuck as to were to start it all and as is often my issue over thinking just how I am going to word things. And then while reading a crafters blog that I had been directed to for some ideas I saw a post that got me thinking, Why not give that a shot to get things going on writing on this again and work up to things like Kaylee's birth, that blog is only 5 months late.lol. What she did was take a look around her home and her life and just wrote what you would find looking into her world. So here you go a little look into our lives right now....
If you looked into our Living room: You would see a few toys that I havent gotten around to picking up yet that the girls were useing to play with Kaylee as they were dancing and singing around the living room tonight when we opted to have a TV free evening. And the books that Kyra was reading to Ember after dinner. Its a mess but its my mess.
If you looked into my Kitchen: You would actually see it clean for the most part. Kyra was a huge help today and offered to sweep for me thinking that its one of the coolest chores ever, Wish I still felt that way. And the brownies on the stove that I thought the girls would enjoy tomorrow, Even though Justin keeps saying I need to stop baking because im just making him fat.
If you looked into my Bedroom: You would find a mess I am so thankful I can hide behind a closed door, Laundry on the floor that needs to be put away and others that need to be put in the hamper, and a bed that never did get made today. And if you looked in as I write this you would see one of the most perfect babies sleeping sweetly. Looking so peaceful and perfect that I can almost forget that she ill be up here soon to eat.
If you looked onto my Craft desk: You would see the cards I am working on as thank you cards for the people who speak at church, not just to thank them for their time to prepare something for us because I hate talking myself, but also to make me pay less attention to what the girls are doing and help me pay attention to the speaker. And also the cards for my niece and other birthdays I have coming up.
If you looked into the DVD player: You would find Boarderlands 2. I know silly to have a video game in at the ready when we arent playing but its some of the alone time me and Justin love to spend together.
If you look into The Office: You would see the room we still have yet to actually unpack. We seem to just still dig though boxes till we find what we need but it will get unpacked one of these days. For now its my crazy space.
If you looked into the girls room: You would find it CLEAN!! I know Im as shocked as the rest of you but they did a good job of cleaning it today and Ember even vacuumed it. Its not perfect but I love how they try and are taking on more responsibility. And when they were done they got to play with their ponies and were blending their voices. ( for all who dont know what that means its when you use a British accent) I love how these girls thing, they can always make me laugh.
If you look into my head: You would find confusion and stress. Things havnt been going perfect and I keep waiting for things to get better or the other shoe to drop. I know I think to much and it is stealing my sleep from me. I know its all happening for a reason and yet I cant help but still want to cry when I find those moments I am alone and dont have to be strong for my kids.
If you looked into my Heart: You would find so much love its hard to put into words. Love for my husband who is my rock and keeps me sane when I am falling apart. My kids who keep me laughing even when they make me insane when they aren't listening. My sister who is trying to keep me smiling from so far away and is never to busy to talk when I need her. And my dad who is always there when I need him and I think puts our needs above his own. And the people who I have met here that remind me why we moved back to such a wonderful place full of people who have nothing but love for the people around them all the time. And a little sadness for the people we dont get to see as much now that we have left Houston, and a thankfulness for technology so that we can still keep in touch and I can still keep those friends somewhat close. And most of all you would see the Love and Joy and Thankfulness I have for a higher power who can see the bigger picture when I cant and shows such love and mercy to me no matter my short comings and has given me all the people in my life I could not live without.

To Early to be Teaching...
I know funny title, but its what sounded perfect to start out this post about how my sweet little Kaylee Jo is already teaching me things that I have 1. Forgotten because lets face it if we remembered everything about being pregnant and labor there would not be the amount of kids on this planet that we have now or 2. Things that I didn't have to deal with when it came to Kyra and Ember.
Today's big lesson... I am one of those people who lock their knees while standing at the sink doing dishes. Normally not an issue, but when 7 months pregnant this can be enough to one make for a very unhappy and wiggly baby and make one mommy very light headed.
So how do you deal with this issue since sadly leaving them in the sink or spending the last 3 months of my pregnancy eating on and out of and off of only plastic things is one not good for the planet and two just not a good idea, I took the time to ask my doctor what I could do.
I bet you will never guess what I was told... thats right she told me to sit down when I started getting light headed. Who would have guessed, and why didnt I think of that. Oh no wait I did and have, I just tend to wait a little to long to do the sitting part. I know you have all been there, that moment when you are sure you can get that one or two more things done before you HAVE to sit down and rest.
Now you might be asking yourself how this is my unborn child teaching me anything? Well she is teaching me not to push it unless I want to spend a whole day in bed and unable to do anything, no matter the pace that Im going. If I ignore her wiggles of protest or my body trying to get me to listen to its self I know I will feel it the next day as my blood pressure will shoot through the roof and I will get to have those ever fun braxton hicks contractions. So today the lesson is that no one dish or vacuumed room or load of laundry is worth pushing things so that I am then in pain or having to watch my very very amazing wonderful husband have to do the things I cant on top of everything he already does for me and our family.
Now I just have to remember all of this as we get into the holiday season and I want to spend 3 hours standing over a boiling pot of caramel because it sounds super yummy. Chances are good I will have forgotten, Funny how that seems to be the case.lol.

I Apologize to the past. AKA- Sorry I was a dumb kid
So when I was in my early 20s I worked at a Dillards in the Prescott Mall. It may have been a small town job but the manager might as will have thought we were working the store in New York because they always wanted out clothing nice and our hair and make up done. But being young with no other people to worry about this was not really a problem. After almost a year with them I moved on to working in a care home were it was a total 180 from suits and dresses, to scrubs and ponytails, but only working two 24 hour shifts a week I had way to much free time on my hands and so got a part time job working the front desk at a Big O tire there in town, and I could once again dress up and look pretty for work, what can I say I missed it. Now it was during this time of two job and my two best friends still working at the mall that I got to spend lots of time in the food court with them on their lunch break and even more time people watching. After all people as a whole are every interesting when they are to busy in their own lives to care who is watching.
So during all this time people watching we got to see all kinds of people coming and going from the mall, and I have to say our favorites were the Mall walkers. The little old people who make laps around the mall and are just to cute, because they are always in the best mood. It was actually very relaxing to just sit and chat and enjoy the people going about their day.
So enough with the seemingly random back story, it was during this time that not one but both of my friends found out that they were both expecting and only about a month apart. And as most people know when you are expecting or you know someone who is, you seem to have the same issue as when you buy a car. You never noticed the car before but once you own it you start seeing all the others on the road. And so it was true with pregnant women, we starting to see them every where, and especially when we were people watching, in fact there were days when it seemed there were more expecting moms walking the mall then the old people. Now being young and very very dumb we would watch these women in different stages of pregnancy and make comments like "I will never let myself go like 'THAT' when I have a kid or during my pregnancy." And it wasn't that these people looked bad. It was just the normal comfy pants and the over size shirt with their hair up in the tossed up bun or ponytail or haven forbid the scrunchy. And I am very sad to say that the moms who looked like they were about to pop who just looked done as they walked around with no makeup and a very determined look on their face probably got the most comments.
Now for the credit of my friends they both pulled off looking amazing through their WHOLE pregnancy and always very put together. They made sure to always do their hair and makeup and got clothing that always just gave them the cute belly every woman dreams of having. And for this I both love and hate them. And for my credit what little there is to have, when I was expecting Kyra I made a great effort to be put together whenever I had to leave my home. It helped that I was the most pregnant in Wisconsin in the winter so over size clothing was to be expected. This can not be said for my pregnancy with Ember or with Kaylee now. Chasing around a child while being sick all the time makes it more then a little hard to care how your hair looks or if you have makeup on or not. And I find myself looking back at those women in the mall and wonder, was that their time away from the kids and craziness of running a house, so they didn't care how they looked as they rushed out of the house, Maybe all that mattered was getting out before someone needed something else from them that would keep them from a little bit of breathing time 'me time' that all moms need and so desperately miss.
I think of all the times I have left the house with out checking my hair and only sometimes caring enough to change into something that looked nice, and if I am being honest even those changes were fear of ending up on the people of walmart website.Be honest you have once or twice wondered if you were going to end up online because you were in a rush and didn't have time to care. And most of those times have been when I am not wanting to puke 75% of the day. So now that I do feel sick more often then not, and still have to chase around a ball of energy and make sure Kyra gets to and from the school bus and does her homework how I look seems to have gone to the proverbial dogs because I have other things to think about. And while I am not sporting the scrunchie from days gone by,come on we all miss it, its more from lack of scrunchie then the care of the style miss step that they are now. And if given the chance to get out alone there is a very good chance I would take it and run with out looking down at what I am wearing or back into a mirror.
So to all the women who were gawked at way back when, I say I am humbly sorry for ever questioning your leaving the house that way. And in fact am even a little proud to have joined your ranks of the frazzled mom who has other things to worry about, and can save those looking amazing days for those special times for when I want to look pretty or I want to dress up for my husband and not the chore that it use to be to do every day. But that is just me.

The great EYE scare. Or as I see it. Why the Monkeys shouldnt jump on the bed!
Ok short story to get to the longer story.lol. Having been in a hospital a couple times and having worked in an assisted living home I have always been a big fan of the carts they have that roll under the bed and you can set things on, ya for those places its normally food but why does it have to be. I have always thought they would make an awesome laptop table. And so after Kyra was born and I accually had a laptop my search for such a table was on. And let me tell you not easy to find. Then just last year while in Big Lots of all places I found one!! And someone had the same idea I had because it was even labled as a Laptop table. And so my husband who loves me and knew how long I had been looking for something got it for me as an eary birthday gift. I have to say I love it since I do like to write when the girls go to bed, and I love to write in bed. Ok short story (kind of) is over and on to the point of the blog.
So I have this table in my room and without thinking to much I hadnt pushed it back far enough from my bed the night before. Normally not a big deal it would just be a case of me stubbing a toe or something on it. But on this day Ember and I were sitting on the bed as she had walked up to me and informed me in her very say so tone she can get that she had a poo butt. Thats right the kid doesnt say much but that is something she has no issue telling me. So we changed the poo butt and I was thinking she would be on her way. But no she thought it would be far more exciting to jump on our bed. so we were playing I would tickle her and she would be goofy and jump around. All good and fine till she bounced a little close to the edge and instead of going off the edge she hit just the corner of my little table that has rounded corners.
Now being mommy I instantly wanted to calm her down while seeing how bad it was and somehow she had hit it hard enough or just right and she had cut right next to her eye. And so with lighting speed I was on the phone calling our pediatrician and leaving a message for the nurse (by the way I HATE that about doctors these days I need to talk to someone now and they want me to leave a message) And then called my mom and she had no ideas because none of us had ever done anything like this. And then left a message for Justin to call seeing as he had the car, incase the peds called back and said to come in. Then called them about 3 more times. And then Justin called and said he was on his way. Then mom called to see what was going on and if I had heard from the doctor (its a good thing I have call waiting huh) All while dealing with a little girl that by this time had cryed herself into being tired because she did it right at nap time, and trying to keep her awake, she wasnt digging that and was still crying. So finally the nurse called back and said she could sleep just to make sure she was rousable. And to keep an eye on her for 48 hours (did you know with a head injury its accually up to 2 weeks things can happen but the first 48 hours are the major time, not the first 8?Learned that one from our little Ember as well) We were also to watch her balance to see if she was any more off balance then your average almost 2 year old, as they tend to be off balance anyway still. And if her temp to hit 105 or higher. Any of these things would mean a trip to the ER, Not that I wouldnt have been rushing her in with a temp anywere near 105 anyway even if she hadnt hit her head. But she told me to calm down and just relax. Why do they always tell us that I wonder?
Anyway I called Justin to tell him what they had said, seeing as he was on the way home anyway just in case. Then called mom to let her know. And then started keeping a hawks eye watch on her. Now the pics are not the day it happended, but the day after when I was a little less worried about it and we figured that a first ever black eye was one for the scrap books. And after alot of back and forth on my part worth a blog post, with the hopes that my friends would see my little tom boy and not think to bad about me for letting her get hurt.
And for the end I would love to say this taught my little monkey not to jump on beds but I cant. She still sn the first to jump on any surface be it bed or title or new blocks in the back yard. But I can say that mommy has learned to put away my table and make it a little safer for my little monkey.
The day after it happened you can really see the cut and that is what really freaked me out.
She was willing kind of to close her eye so I could get a pic of the black just starting.
She wasnt into the picture on this day so you cant really see other then that she isnt bothered by it.
Had to show it off better on this day and you can see the black really coming in but the little cut is all but gone.
Being goofy in bed and trying to lick mommy. but as you can see we had moved on to the mostly yellow.
Last day she let me get a pic. And as you can see she was tired of getting a pic everyday. But the cut is gone and its almost healed. The black eye only lasted about a week but it scared mommy forever. Funny how kids can do that to us huh?

I know I know
I have been a total slacker when it comes to blogging. And I should be doing better and it will happen someday..... I hope. So here is the plan I will try to post a couple of blogs catching everything up. Now I could just skip it all but what is the fun in that right so be looking for the blog vomit to come.lol
Step two to the plan. Well it comes from accually looking at my blog. WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING? I know you are asking it to but I just thought I would voice it for you. Part of me has been so shocked everytime we see someone from the old ward who is soooo in shock at how big Ember has gotten. Now I know she is my little weed but I do post things from time to time. And looking at things tonight it hit me. THE HEADER PHOTO FOR THE BLOG IS FROM EASTER 09'. No wonder people are a little confused She has grown a ton since then. So on Wensday or Thursday. Probally thursday because we have a bribe for that day we will be doing pics of the girls that will also count as Embers 2 year photos. And I will finally have a new header for the blog that shows how big the girls have grown.
So that is the plan I will play catch up and get a new header pic as well as tons of other cute ones on here in the next couple of weeks. After all I will have to do a MY BABY IS 2 post anyway and it might be nice to not be thinking of all the other things when I write that. So if you know me and have me on FB or Chat. Remember to kick me in the butt from time to time if you dont see me doing these things in the next couple of weeks.
